VIETNAM VETERANS HOMECOMING

Vietnam Veterans were finally honored and given a Homecoming of their own after 39 years of the Vietnam War being over.  VFW Post 4007 in Hempstead Texas, hosted a Parade, Speeches and other events to welcome the Vietnam Veterans Home.

President Obama signed a proclamation on March 29th, 2012, making March 29th officially Vietnam Veteran's Day to be remembered every year on the 29th of March.  The last soldier to leave Vietnam was on March 29th, 1973 after over a decade with a conflict in Vietnam, but those soldiers never received the proper welcome home that they so deserved.  Today, a mistake was corrected with the proclamation put into full effect in Hempstead Texas, as some of those Vietnam Veterans were shown the gratitude by the American Public in a small town in Texas.
